Housing & Hope is a local social impact project offering a private answer to homelessness. The Housing & Hope Project works with Real Estate with Purpose (a social purpose brokerage) as well as investors with M21 Social Investing, who do “a little more” with their portfolio. ‘Housing & Hope’ partners – together with E49 Corporation – provide permanent housing solutions in the community and change the way we approach the homeless problem.
In the Sacramento Region, homelessness has many faces. When we hear “homeless” we think of individuals who are on the streets and may have serious issues facing them in recovery. (We refer to that group of homeless as “chronic” homeless). But there are many unreported homeless or soon-to-be homeless in our region including families who have lost one or more wage earners, aged out foster youth, refugees resettled in our region who have limited funds to get up on their feet, young women rescued from sexual exploitation who need safe homes to go to, youth offenders coming out of juvenile hall who do not have families to go to and others. We call these transitionally homeless.
E49 believes that by working together, utilizing local nonprofits, churches, business and civic partners (to do what they do best in their areas of expertise), we can better address transitional homelessness, and offer an “alternate path” through housing, mentoring and education to help break the cycle. Housing & Hope is a collaborative approach using E49’s PIT Model and offers housing and mentorship to those in need, and does this in collaboration with other organizations who are “on mission” together with us.
